i must appolgize for not blogging for while , hopefully this blog will explain the absence...
well i dont really know how to begin
lets try at the beginning probably...
in hindsight this started a couple of weeks ago but we didnt realise how desperate the situation was untill it was very bad.
MR S was struggling with the stairs, we thought it was a problem he has had for a while with his crusiate ligament in his leg...
smudge was struggling with the length of his walks, again we put it down to the same reason...
MR S wasnt eating like normal or drinking as much as he normally did...
he was restless...
we took fluffypants to the vets & we came home without him, he was staying in as they thought it was pancreatitis. after a blood test confirmed it was he was placed on a drip with fluids & medication. we were terrified i can tell you, there was a chance he would not make it as it was chronic pancreatitis !
after two days he was allowed home as he hadnt eaten anything since monday & this was now friday the vets thought we might have more chance of getting him to eat in the comfort of his own home.
for the first few days he hardly ate anything , he just slept, he didnt even bark once!!
he had to go on a very low fat diet of less than 7 per cent fat. we got the cans & he wasnt interested al all ( i dont blame him it looked like underlay )
we had to bring him water & feed it to him out of our hands, slowly he started to look interested.
after 3 days he was wanting to know a bit more of what was going on so we had to lift him up to his windowsill so he could look out.
he started to eat the underlay ( which is what his food will be forever known ) & take himself to get drinks
it seems we have been extremly lucky with our fur baby as its been 4 weeks now & hes still here barking more ( never thought id be glad for that ) eating better and he has lost weight .we are still in recovery mode & hes still not having walkes everyday yet, some days are good & some days are not so good its a slow recovery process.
he is being pampered ( but not with treats ) as you can see but on the whole he is doing very well.
best christmas presant was having him getting better !
hope everyone had good christmas & great new year
see you for the next blog soon x
