Here at Fluffysmudge we have been busy during this strange time of lock down & the scary covid 19 pandemic however whilst a lot of people were on furlough we were not. I have worked my normal job all the way through so i appologise for not keeping up to date with my website & blog, sorry. so .......lets jump in to todays question ....
HOW DO YOU PICK YOUR GEMSTONES ?
We all love crystals but what makes us choose the ones we choose ?
We all have different ideas of how to pick a crystal, wether it be a feeling a look a 6th sense or does the crystal pick you ?
The quick answer is that there is no correct answer.
I took a trip recently to my wholesale crystal shop & this question came up so i thought about it quite a lot, in fact every time i picked up a crystal i then thought about why i had picked it up. sometimes there was an easy explination but sometimes there was nothing i could put my finger on, which suprised me.
There is no right or wrong way wether you go to a shop and close your eyes over a basket of crystals and wait for a feeling to grab one or wether you have a colour in mind or a specific crystal to help with a dissorder or even just one to match your decor, its all good.
i like to pick my crystals by a few methods i have identified ...
* which i am drawn to, i think this might be what i like the look of initially
* then i hold it so see how it sits in my energy field
* if im picking to sell i look at the asthetics of the gemstone
* is it practical ie - for a pocket stone you dont want a stone to have sharp edges
* will it fit in a box, bag or pouch
* can it be modified, i do like adding my own creativity to gemstones
I did notice that mostly i went on my gut instinct which is what i believe a lot of people seem to do.
I dont tend to go out looking for a crystal for a certain properties they have with the exception of shungite this i did search out because of its properties to cleanse & purify water, also known to absorb radiation - very handy with all the tec we are all surrounded with in our modern life. shungite also rubs off on your hands if you hold it for any time as i found out whilst wearing white, not a good thing ! some people have said they cannot hold it as it is has an over whelming effect on them.
To be honest though every crystal is unique, they all have families and each family have elements, just like we do but even though the elements are the same the result is unique , even if they are shaped in to hearts or carved in to animals no 2 will be the same again just like us !
Nature is an amazing force and maybe whilst choosing our gemstones we subconsiously tap in to this and go with the same vibration that we see in ourselfs, maybe .... how do you choose your crystals ?
Whilst you have a ponder on this very important question, have a pawsome week x
